– locations will be different on a mobile or tablet
Log into your Facebook account
Go to your Home/Newsfeed
Look in the left side bar and click Pages
This will open the Pages menu. Click on +Create New Page.
A new page will open that looks like this:
Fill in the boxes on the left sidebar.
For your Page Name, you can choose whatever you want as long as it’s available but be sure to check your company’s rules if you include their name. (ie: if you’re an Avon Rep, you must clearly indicate that you are an Independent Sales Representative either in the name or description)
You will have to choose a category from the options Facebook offers and you can choose one to three categories.
In your description box you want to describe your business concisely and try to include keywords in a natural way.
When you have completed all the required Facebook boxes, the Create Page will turn blue. Click it and your Facebook Business Page has been created.
Setting Up Your Facebook Business Page
Add a Profile Picture – This does not have to a perfect picture taken by a professional but keep in mind this will represent the image you want to present for your business.
Add a Cover Photo – This is a photo that should quickly represent your business – Pinterest, Avon U, Create your own are all good options to find a good cover photo. If you want a custom Facebook Cover Photo, contact us and we can create one for you for $10 as long as you provide the images you want to use.
Create Page Username – You can only have one username for your Page or profile, and you can’t have a username that is already being used.
Usernames can only contain alphanumeric characters (A–Z, 0–9) and periods (“.”).
They can’t contain generic terms or extensions (.com, .net).
Usernames must be at least 5 characters long. Periods (“.”) and capitalization can’t be used to differentiate usernames. For example, johnsmith55, John.Smith55 and john.smith.55 are all considered the same username.
Usernames shouldn’t impersonate someone else.
Your username must adhere to the Facebook Terms.
